A one take music video for Tones and I: an alternate version of her new single, 'Never Seen The Rain', featuring a ten-piece choir, drummer, bassist and keys. Opting for multiple angles to cover the performance, Tones wanted a stripped back version of her single to feature a large troupe of musicians. We employed a large lighting setup and shot when it was golden hour at The Button Factory in Cheltenham, Victoria.
Made for Sony Music, the job moved fast: a treatment within days of the first call, a meeting with Tones at Singing Bird Studio in Frankston, and the shoot on Thursday 30 January 2020. A dedicated lighting rig and backdrop were brought in for the day. The band and choir played live and the audio was recorded as they performed, so what you hear is the room, not a playback track.
