A workplace safety series for Downer, made with HCN and shot inside Downer's rail maintenance facilities at Auburn in Sydney and Cardiff in Newcastle. Safety messaging usually gets tuned out, so we put the real crews in front of camera and let their personalities carry it: a Day in the Life with an apprentice on the floor, My Day Your Day swapping roles between workshop and office, Hot Tips for walking the yard, a Road Trip through site driving rules, and a Movember piece. Then we cut a blooper reel from everything that went wrong, which the crews loved most of all.
Our Melbourne video production team travelled with a compact two-person crew, shooting on twin RED Komodos with gimbal, drone and a full lighting kit, so we could move quickly through live work areas without stopping the job. The result is a suite of films that feel like they were made by the people in them, not handed down to them.
